Amilie St-Louis

I am a passionate and detail-oriented fashion professional with a strong technical background in pattern making, CAD drawing, and garment construction. My journey in the fashion industry began with a diploma in Plastic Arts from Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, followed by a degree in Fashion Design from Marie-Victorin. I further expanded my expertise with a year and a half at the University of the Arts London (London College of Fashion) in the United Kingdom.

At Marie-Victorin, I was hired as a mentor to assist my peers in my areas of expertise, including traditional and digital pattern making, as well as CAD drawing (presentation boards, technical sketches, and production drawings). During my time at UAL, I also dedicated my free time to helping classmates refine their sewing and pattern-making skills. As a native French speaker with advanced English proficiency, I can seamlessly collaborate in bilingual environments.

Throughout my education and internships—most notably at Maison Marie Saint-Pierre and Les Artisans d'Azure—I developed a deep understanding of fabric properties and treatments, such as mercerization. These experiences strengthened my ability to design with purpose, ensuring that functionality is just as integral as aesthetics. I take pride in my technical expertise, which I consider one of my greatest strengths.

My professional journey led me to work as a shoemaker at Jean-François Rochefort Inc., where I honed my skills in footwear construction, from pattern development to the final product. This role also enhanced my sewing techniques. The company specializes in crafting costumes, wigs, and accessories for prestigious clients such as Cirque du Soleil and Walt Disney.

Currently, I am the Head of Fit & Specs Technician Department at Hago Lingerie, where I oversee costing, grading, traditional pattern making, and quality inspections. I ensure that all technical comments are clear and precise for factory execution, maintaining constant communication to guarantee that corrections are implemented flawlessly and deadlines are met.

I am an adaptable and open-minded professional who thrives on challenges and new opportunities. My ability to integrate into diverse environments and my commitment to precision make me a valuable asset to any team.
